It is hugely important in our society nowadays, and builds practically anything, from bridges to highrises in the city. However, the production of concrete has a large impact on our environment: it is the second largest producer of CO2, and is responsible for emitting up to 5% of global CO2 emissions. Take a look at this highly advanced materials recycling facility (MRF) we've just installed at Blakeley’s Waste Management in Wigan. It processes 20 tonnes per hour of commercial and industrial mixed solid waste and dry mixed recyclables and is a high-tech facility that uses five optical sorting units (NIR) to recover six fractions, as well as mechanical sorting to ensure maximum recycling capability. In total, the plant can recover 15 different materials as well as RDF for the residues. The plant offers Blakeley's total flexibility in being able to process different types of waste streams. Waste water engineering is not usually its own degree course but a specialization from degrees such as civil engineering, environmental engineering or chemical engineering. Waste water engineering deals with the transportation and cleaning of black water, grey water, and irrigation water. Wastewater treatment and water reclamation are areas of concern in this field.Secondly, second objective of this particular environmental engineering is to collect, treat and dispose of the wastewater generated by the people in the community. The fourth objective of environmental engineering is about the air pollution. We have to keep the good air quality so that the respiratory diseases, pulmonary TB etc are not transmitted through air.
